Have you ever wondered how healthy your lifestyle is? You are probably aware that changes in your lifestyle must be done so you can live a happier life. You can improve your health little by little by making sure you do most of the rules we’ve written below.
1. Have a Healthy Weight
If your Body Fat Index or BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9, the good news is you have a healthy weight. You can use a BMI calculator to get your measurements, however, do not completely rely on it as you still need to discuss with your physician especially if you are experiencing any health problems.
2. Drink Plenty of Water
Drinking plain water has multiple benefits including flushing out toxins in the body, relieving constipation, and keeping your body hydrated. A study shows that drinking enough water can also help you control your weight.
3. Eat a Balanced Diet
Know the food that you need to consume for your daily hustle. Having a balanced diet is important in keeping your body healthy and avoiding diseases. But remember that your health may still be at risk if you are not practicing good eating habits.

4. Get Enough Sleep
Enough sleep varies from person to person. Some may need 9 hours while others need only 7 hours of good sleep. People who are deprived of sleep usually experience changes in mood and decline in cognitive performance.
5. Exercise and Stay Active
Having a busy schedule mostly forbids us from doing exercise and trying to get fit. A new study shows that walking up the stairs 30 minutes a week is a practical and time-efficient workout to try.
6. Stop Bad Habits
Everyone is guilty in having two, or more bad habits that limit the progress we want to see in our lives. If you have goals of living a healthy life, perhaps eating junk food, drinking too much alcohol, and smoking cigarettes are not going to help you. Even getting less sleep and overeating are bad habits that you have to acknowledge and fix immediately.
7. Know How to Manage Stress
Sometimes, stress is inevitable. Taking time off work or just going out for a good relaxing session are just some few steps to avoid the negative effects stress brings to your life.

8. Develop a Positive Mindset
Have you ever had bad days where you find it difficult to stay motivated especially if you are finally trying to improve your lifestyle? Even with bad days like this, try to keep a positive mindset and you will be surprised that a simple change in your mood can impact your whole day.
9. Balance Your Life
Whether you are a student, employee, or a business man, you always need to balance everything in your life whether it be emotionally, physically, socially, mentally, and financially.
10. Have Regular Checkups
You may feel like you do follow the rules you’ve read about keeping your body healthy, however, symptoms of illnesses or health problems don’t always show. It is important that you still go for checkups from your trusted physician regularly.
Trying to better your life by knowing how healthy is your lifestyle could be the first step of the long journey you are about to take on. Professor Dame Sally Davies, England’s chief medical officer once said, “We all have the power to shape our future health by making changes now.”
